Adam currently teaches privately at his home in Manchester, is a staff tutor at Chetham's School of Music and Rossall School, and an examiner for ABRSM. Students benefit from various performance opportunities, should they wish to, including ABRSM exams and local concerts, workshops, competitions and festivals. A number of former and current pupils have been accepted into Chetham's, Junior RNCM and RNCM. Prospective students interested in studying with Adam are very welcome to get in touch via the contact page, in order to set up a meeting subject to availability.

If your child has any talent Adam will find it and push them to make the most of it. My daughter started with him at the end of January 2019, a few weeks before she was due to take her Grade 1 exam.  Under his guidance she was playing Grade 8 pieces by Autumn 2019.  His passion for and knowledge of music really comes across in his teaching.  She auditioned for Chetham’s and was offered a place to start September 2020. From the beginning he has encouraged her not just to be able to play a piece but think about shaping it as well. My daughter and I would highly recommend him, he has pushed her hard yet in a relaxed and friendly manner, she enjoys her lessons with him as he is also a really nice guy.

Carl, Lola's father

Adam uniquely combines the utmost patience with a steely determination to bring out the best in his pupils. His passion for music and music makers is highly affecting, while he has remarkable skill in nurturing stress-free confidence in his students to perform. Adam is also an exceptional teacher of music theory with the youngest of pupils, equipping them with easy-to-use tools to answer the most complex questions at the examination stage, as well as improve performance skills.

Stephen, Leo's father

Adam is able to get his students to play with enthusiasm and care. He does this by firstly handling their technical difficulties, and secondly by challenging them on their interpretive choices, and at times preferring his students' interpretation to his, which is very encouraging for students to explore their own creativity. He gives a clear-cut method for producing the tone colour that he is aiming for, rather than vague or abstract ideas. As a result of studying with Adam, I have been recently accepted into the RNCM.

Shenuka Jayasinghe

Our daughter has worked with Adam for four years, passing her exams and also, more importantly, learning to enjoy playing the piano: she has learnt so much,  and feels comfortable with the instrument. Adam is a patient, committed teacher and we are very happy that her journey into music has been such a positive experience.

He is patient and assertive during his lessons, and engages with the pupil thus making effective his mentoring. He makes the learner improve every session.
